Description
Michael Krosin, MD, FAAOS, QME is a fellowship-trained orthopedic trauma surgeon and Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. His subspecialty expertise includes complex fracture care, Ilizarov and computer-assisted frame reconstruction, hip and and knee arthroplasty, and foot and ankle surgery.
Dr. Krosin serves as Orthopedic Division Chair and Medical Director at Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley and is the founder of East Bay Orthopedic Trauma and Reconstruction, a division of BASS Medical Group. He also practices at Alameda Health System, where he has held leadership roles including Director of Orthopaedic Trauma, Chief of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery, and Chair of the Department of Orthopedic Surgery.
An active educator and researcher, Dr. Krosin has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, delivered hundreds of resident lectures, and has been invited to speak nationally and internationally through AO North America, AAOS, OTA, and the Johnson & Johnson Institute.
Dedicated to global health, Dr. Krosin is the founder and president of Step-Up Orthopedics, a nonprofit advancing trauma care worldwide. He has participated in more than 10 international surgical missions and continues to train surgeons abroad. As a California-appointed Qualified Medical Examiner (QME), he also provides expert medico-legal evaluations in complex orthopedic trauma and reconstruction
