Description
Dr. Alex Hakim is a board-certified pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine physician and Qualified Medical Evaluator with a diverse background spanning clinical care, hospital leadership, and medical research. He earned his medical degree from the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, completed his residency in Internal Medicine at UCLA/Olive View, and went on to complete dual fellowships in Sleep Medicine and Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Hakim served as an attending physician in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine for a decade at Providence Little Company of Mary, where he also held leadership roles as ICU Director, Chair of Critical Care, and Associate Director for the Southern California Hospitalist Network. He has contributed nationally recognized research and publications on sleep medicine, pulmonary disorders, and COVID-19, and has been featured as a speaker on NBC News and other platforms.
In addition to his clinical and academic work, Dr. Hakim is the founder of Sleep Doc LA, a home-based sleep medicine practice, and has served as a consultant for insurance, pharmaceutical, and medical technology groups. His expertise spans obstructive sleep apnea, insomnia, ventilator management, and advanced pulmonary and sleep-related disorders.
