Antoine Hallak, MD

Dr. Antoine Hallak is a board-certified plastic surgeon serving as a Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) in California. With extensive training in reconstructive surgery and decades of clinical experience, Dr. Hallak evaluates complex injuries involving soft tissue trauma, scarring, nerve involvement, and functional impairment, providing thorough and well-reasoned medical-legal opinions for workers’ compensation matters.

Dr. Hallak completed his General Surgery residency at Staten Island University Hospital in New York followed by specialized training in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Cosmetic Surgery at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, one of the world’s leading academic institutions for plastic surgery training. After practicing in New York City, he relocated to Southern California where he has remained actively involved in both surgical practice and the regional medical community.

His specialty training also makes him particularly valuable in cases involving complex trauma, burns, post-surgical complications, reconstructive procedures, and cosmetic or disfigurement-related impairment. His surgical background allows him to evaluate the functional impact of prior trauma, scarring, nerve damage, and reconstructive procedures that may contribute to overall labor disablement.

Dr. Hallak has been recognized for his clinical leadership and dedication to patient care, including being voted Physician of the Year by the Pomerado Hospital Operating Room Administration and Staff. He currently serves as the Representative of the Plastic Surgery Subsection of the Department of Surgery at Palomar Pomerado Health.

He maintains hospital privileges at multiple facilities throughout San Diego County, including Palomar Medical Center, Pomerado Hospital, and several accredited outpatient surgery centers.

Dr. Hallak is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the San Diego County Medical Society, and the San Diego Plastic Surgery Society.
