Description
Dr. David Benjamin Lazar is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal surgeon specializing in complex retinal disease, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and ocular inflammatory conditions. He is a Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME) and founder of David Lazar, MD Inc., where he provides advanced surgical and clinical retina care in Los Angeles, California.
Dr. Lazar completed his vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at Lahey Medical Center and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. He previously served as Chief Resident at Louisiana State University/Ochsner Clinic Foundation, where he also completed his ophthalmology residency. A graduate of Tel Aviv University’s Sackler School of Medicine, Dr. Lazar brings a strong academic foundation to his clinical and research practice.
Actively involved in numerous national and international clinical trials, Dr. Lazar has served as a principal investigator for studies on innovative therapies for macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, and thyroid eye disease. His work has been published in leading journals including Ophthalmology and Retinal Cases & Brief Reports.
Dr. Lazar is a diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Retina Specialists, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology. He has been recognized with multiple awards for clinical research, surgical excellence, and teaching.
