Description
Dr. Francis Bustos, MD is an orthopedic surgeon with specialized expertise in sports medicine, arthroscopy, and reconstructive surgery. He treats a broad range of shoulder, knee, hip, and ankle conditions, with a focus on minimally invasive techniques, ligament and tendon repair, cartilage restoration, and total joint replacement. He also manages general orthopedic trauma, including fractures and dislocations.
Dr. Bustos earned his medical degree from Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Virginia. He went on to complete fellowship training in arthroscopy and reconstructive surgery at the Southern California Orthopedic Institute in Los Angeles.
His experience includes caring for athletes at multiple levels and serving as a team physician during both residency and fellowship training. Dr. Bustos has also contributed to orthopedic research through numerous scientific publications and is an active member of several leading orthopedic and sports medicine organizations, including AAOS, AOSSM, AANA, and ASES.
